The Shelborne will introduces four vibrant new food & beverage destinations to the neighborhood, each suited for warm weather dining, with an all-day signature restaurant, a lobby bar- lounge, and curated cafe. Resort amenities include a spacious pool and lush garden lounge, indoor-outdoor cabanas, sundeck terrace, state-of-the-art fitness center, dedicated access to a private beach club, and more than 15,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor meeting & event space.

Position Overview
As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in our culinary team, ensuring that high-quality meals are prepared and served to our guests. Your primary responsibility will be to create delicious and visually appealing dishes that meet our restaurant's standards and customer expectations. You will collaborate with other kitchen staff to maintain a smooth workflow and uphold food safety and sanitation standards. This position requires creativity and attention to detail, as you will be involved in menu planning and recipe development. Ultimately, your contributions will enhance the dining experience and help establish our establishment as a premier destination in Miami.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or certification from an accredited institution
  • Experience in a high-volume kitchen or fine dining establishment
  • Familiarity with various cooking techniques and cuisines

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
  • Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality and presentation standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and assist in training new staff

The required skills for this position include strong culinary skills, which will be utilized daily in preparing and cooking a diverse range of dishes. Attention to detail is essential, as you will need to ensure that each plate meets the restaurant's high standards for presentation and taste.
