Executive Chef

Location: New York City, Italian flagship property

Reports to: Ownership & Senior Leadership


The Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Executive Chef to lead all culinary operations for a high-volume, quality-driven restaurant concept. This role is responsible for menu oversight, kitchen leadership, financial performance, and the consistent delivery of exceptional food and guest experiences. The ideal candidate is both creatively inspired and operationally disciplined, with a strong focus on team development and execution.


Key Responsibilities

Culinary Leadership & Development

  • Collaborate with senior culinary leadership on recipe development and menu evolution
  • Set and maintain high standards for food quality, taste, and presentation
  • Create detailed menu descriptions and maintain a comprehensive allergy matrix

Kitchen Operations & Management

  • Lead and oversee all back-of-house operations using a clearly defined management structure
  • Manage food and labor costs, inventory controls, ordering, and budget adherence
  • Schedule all BOH team members and approve weekly BOH payroll
  • Ensure timely review and response to internal communications
  • Oversee kitchen equipment maintenance and coordinate necessary repairs
  • Mentor and develop BOH management to uphold quality and presentation standards

Safety, Compliance & Communication

  • Enforce strict food safety and sanitation standards (HACCP)
  • Ensure full compliance with all local health codes and regulations
  • Participate in weekly leadership meetings with ownership and management


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a senior culinary leadership role
  • Experience in high-volume, multi-meal-period or hotel restaurant environments
  • Strong leadership, communication, budgeting, and organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Spanish language skills are a plus


Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $150,000–$180,000
