What we look for in a Sous Chef:
We are looking for an existing
Sous Chef or Senior CDP looking for their next step, who considers themselves
as a natural leader with a passion and flare for producing quality fresh food
in an environment that makes people feel welcome. As the successful Sous Chef
you will:
- Have experience championing excellent service
through quality food
- Demonstrate a passion for leading and developing
a team
- Be an active hands-on Chef with excellent
communication skills
- Be responsible and able to manage the kitchen
staff rota, training and all health and safety effectively at all times
- Working alongside your Head Chef, you will be
able to demonstrate your creativity and ability by helping to design and
deliver new dishes for our menus and daily specials
- Demonstrate great planning and organisational
skills, necessary to maintain effective controls with regard to both GP and
labour
- Have a pro-active approach to driving sales and
delivering growth, through engagement with both kitchen and front of house
teams

The Guardhouse is a unique place located in the heart of the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich. We as a team strive to deliver excellent customer service whilst delivering great food and beverages, were famous for our Sunday roasts which are enjoyed by all the family. My experience of over 12 years in hospitality and in Woolwich gives me that great local knowledge on how to give our fabulous locals the environment they want to enjoy a cold pint at the end of the day on our terrace or lunch with the family, with 2 functions rooms to hold that special event a real bonus. We love dogs so much that our lovely pub dog can't wait to make new friends too! I have been working for Youngs for over 12 years so know just how to build great teams, I love to have a great mix of people and offer a day off for their birthday with pay, I like after a busy shift and smashing everyday targets offer that beverage of choice to make all that hard work worth it. I run by the motto Together Everyone Achieves More=TEAM! We like to help each other and really have that great team spirit from both the Front of House and Kitchen teams. My vision for this team is to grow with Guardhouse and make it a fabulous place to work and a place you want to bring your family and be proud to say 'I work at the Guardhouse'
