About Us

Summary The Dispatcher is the central point of contact for base catering operations and is responsible for dispatching drivers to and from aircraft. The position develops and maintains detailed operational planning which includes administrative, implementation, and follow-up tasks for Sky Café bases. Works with the team to understand and assist with tracking all work, task, operational processes, and financials. Key Responsibilities ● Dispatch Duties ○ Understand and promote the company core values ○ Dispatch drivers to airlines in a timely manner to avoid delays ○ Attend to and report all calls/issues regarding each flight ○ Perform operational pre-shift huddle meetings with the entire staff on duty ○ Be familiar with and knowledgeable in all procedures and functions for all operational positions ○ Dispatch will be cross-trained on all aspects of the Warehouse and Transport operations ○ Communicate all operational functions with airline clients ○ Update airline information onto blocks to include revised timings, updated gates, aircraft locations, tow times, and gates for all aircraft must be included on each block ○ Report any pending strips that were not done during the shift and the reason for it not being stripped ○ Maintain constant communication with crew members and/or airlines operational staff or representatives ○ Update next day blocks for AM/PM and put names of drivers and shift times and the corresponding truck that they are to use ○ Ensure that blocks for following days are created properly and drivers are confirmed for the following day -- trucks should be assigned according to the flights that they are doing. ○ Every single occurrence that is outside of normal operations must be communicated to Airlines as they occur in real-time ○ Update GPET according to the shift worked -- GPET must be updated for all flight serviced per shift including double-checking for accuracy to ensure that all extra charges and information is inputted correctly ○ Ensure that the Security declaration is completed for each flight ○ Ensure that carrier checklist are completed and uploaded onto Google Drive ○ Ensure that the Driver Log is completed in full and any issues with the truck are reported on the driver log ○ Perform other duties as assigned ● Supervisory Duties ○ Communicate all shift issues and concerns with staff performance for disciplinary action if necessary ○ Review previous shift emails and ensure that they are all addressed and responded to ○ Report all staff late arrival times, early leaves, and absenteeism ○ Confirm and ensure all team members have had the opportunity to take their break(s) ○ Must ensure that crew is back from break on time and ensure that any downtime must be utilized by getting ahead on loading of the trucks, cleaning of the trucks, and/or building bulk items ○ Maintain communication with all team members and ensure that they are where they are supposed to be, and they are returning to the base in a timely manner ○ Inform Manager/Supervisor regarding any deviations in manpower scheduling ○ At the end of each shift, ensure that all lights have been shut off on all trucks, and check the back of the warehouse and all trucks for cleanliness, fuel, etc., and report any deviations by staff from SOP's to Operations Manager for disciplinary review Core Competencies ● Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization ● Efficiently work as part of a team, as well as independently without direct supervision ● Ability to work under pressure and meet set deadlines ● Attention to detail in all areas of work ● High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts ● Above-average organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills ● Comfortable presenting materials and reports to senior management and customers ● High level of personal integrity ● Strong work ethic and positive team attitude ● Interpret and implement company policies and procedures ● Motivate staff to meet associated goals as required for effective safe day to day operations ● Deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times. ● Work cooperatively between key management personnel and co-workers to achieve company goals and maintain safe and smooth operations ● Prepare for and respond to unforeseen changes/challenges related to safety and operations performance as it pertains to day to day operations ● Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, G Mail, Google Drive ● Successfully multi-task and handle changing priorities ● Consistently demonstrate a safety-focused mindset ● Ability to ensure confidentiality of sensitive information Work Environment ● Exposure to extreme temperature changes and noise ● Must be capable of standing, bending, and lifting during shift ● Must be capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs (23 kgs) on a regular basis as per the physical demands analysis for the task at hand ● Ability to sit for long periods of shift while doing sedentary work
