Arc Herkimer is looking for a Line Cook for the Tin Cup Tavern at the MV Golf and Event Center. The Line Cook duties will consist of assisting the Head Chef with the daily tasks. Their main duties include preparing and cooking food, cleaning up prep areas and making sure the kitchen is stocked.

This position is part time, seasonal. Rate of pay $17.50/hr.

Job duties (including but not limited to):

Set up and stock food items and other necessary supplies.
Prepare food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing. Prepares items for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating.
Cook food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards. Prepares and cooks a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces.
Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.
Learn recipes and execution techniques for menu items
Communicate effectively with the head chef/sous chef and waitstaff
Receive orders and execute according to our recipes and procedures
Washing dishes
Menu knowledge
Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
Ability to have a flexible schedule.
Undertake other duties, responsibilities, and projects as may be required by supervisor.

Position requirements:

High School Diploma/GED preferred.
Food service experience of one year preferred.
Must be 18 years or older.
